East Perth playing a near full strength side proved far too strong for a young Perth team to romp away to a commanding 103 point victory.

After a moving tribute for Anzac Day the Royals came out of the blocks early with goals to Kyle Anderson and experienced Ruckman Paul Johnson. The Demons responded with 2 quick goals from Kyle Chester and Ben Power, however paid the price for a disappointing second term only resulting in 1 point to trail by 44 points at half time.

The second half saw the home side improve their work effort but with injuries hampering the side the Royals simply had too much pace all over the ground for their opponents as they stormed away to an easy win.

At the end of the day 5 goals in perfect conditions was never going to be enough to win. The match committee would have been pleased with a 7 goal haul from Jarryd Morton in the Reserves, who along with his Brother Mitch and small forwards Callum Collard and youngster Rowan Garlett will all be pressing for selection in the upcoming weeks to add potency to the forward line.

By the time the final siren sounded Perth were unable to make any rotations from the bench with Daniel O’Sullivan leaving the ground injured in the opening minutes and joined by Joel Kalajzic, Michael Sinclair and Brennan Stack all injured in the second half.

Tropiano continued his outstanding form for the Demons with 38 possessions and was closely followed by Peel recruit Liam McKenna. Captain Courageous Dene White, who was clearly hampered by an ankle injury kicked 3 goals from a forward pocket.

Next week Perth has the difficult task of playing league leaders Subiaco at home.
