A Message from CEO, Marty Atkins
As the season closes on what all would agree is a very disappointing year, things don’t slow down around the club, with improved on-field performance the focus at present. The first & most important step of this focus is securing a new senior coach. The PFC Coaching Advisory Committee met Wednesday afternoon to finalise a process going forward, respecting that the deadline for applications for the coaching position is Friday 19th September. As expected re-opening the process has seen new applications received, with all to be considered before any further meetings/interviews are to take place. As I have stated through many forums to date - we will not be rushed with our decision, what we will do is get the best coach for the players & the club to take us forward.
For those of you who were unable to attend the Butcher Medal, congratulations again to all award winners on the night, as well as good luck & best wishes to those players that have informed the club that they will not be continuing in Season 2015. As with every club at this time of year, decisions are made which whilst negative in the loss of a player, are positive in that it creates an opportunity for a young player to step up or if need be a recruit to find a new home – either way it is an exciting time to be around the playing group.
Whilst the hunt for a coach continues & recruiting of players commences, we hope that you will continue to support the Perth Football Club and I assure you that the first people to know about any appointments will be our players, officials, support staff, sponsors & loyal members.
