Quality assured for Perth District football clubs

TWO junior football clubs from the Perth District have become the first in the State to receive Gold Accreditation in the West Australian Football Commission’s Quality Club Program.

Maddington and South Perth Junior Football Clubs have both achieved Gold accreditation in the Quality Club Program, which provides an opportunity for all community football clubs in WA to achieve a minimum standard of club administration.

Clubs can achieve the three levels of Bronze, Silver and Gold, with Bronze representing a base level commitment to providing a quality club environment for players, spectators, parents, coaches and umpires.

Club Presidents said the Quality Club Program had provided clubs with the opportunity to become more organized and more structured, and ensured all volunteers had an improved understanding of their roles and the future direction of the club.

South Perth JFC will also be teaming up with the South Perth City Council this weekend to host a free sausage sizzle as part of a joint Neighbourhood Watch promotion from 9.30am to 11am on Sunday, July 25.

Perth 2.1           3.4             5.7          7.11           53

East Fremantle 2.7          5.9             10.17       16.21         127

After a very even and low scoring first half by both sides East Fremantle played a dominant second half to run out easy winners over Perth by 73 points in fine conditions at East Fremantle oval on Saturday.

The Sharks needed to win to keep in touch with a tight race for the top four and certainly came out playing some good team football in the first term. The home side scored first through their Captain Kasey Green and then kicked another to gain a mini break on their opponents.

Perth scored their first goal through Joel Houghton, who converted truly from 50 metres out. Then after some good run and carry football from the returning Ross Young he set up Captain Steven Armstrong who snapped truly to help the Phoenix Demons stay in touch.
